Developer Jeff Greene, of Think Greene LLC, commissioned  Schmidt Nichols to provide urban planning and landscape architecture for his mixed-use redevelopment planned for  550 Banyan Boulevard. This revolutionary project proposes 12 levels of 400 minimalistic apartments that would each total approximately 450 SF. The tiny trade-off would only cost tenants $995 to $1200 per month making it one of the most competitively priced residences in the area. Schmidt Nichols played a crucial role on the planning side of this project, by providing text amendments to the existing code for these smaller sized units. The Banyan Micro-units will be the first of its kind in Palm Beach County; paving the way for future tiny living developments and zoning if the City of West Palm Beach were to approve the project.
