Palm Beach County Fire Stations

The Palm Beach County Fire Rescue facilities department commissioned Schmidt Nichols to provide site planning and landscape architecture for several locations in Lake Worth, Belle Glade, Boynton Beach, and Loxahatchee Groves. Each of the four stations Landscape Plans for the entire property made up of perimeter landscape buffers, interior landscape requirements, parking area, etc. and incorporates building footprints, services areas, ingress and egress points, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, drop off points, required  parking, required loading, required buffers, trash receptacles, sign locations and drainage location. Additional services provided include preparation of Irrigation Plans for reclaimed water with 100% site coverage including complete sprinkler head layout, piping and sleeving layout; Preparation of equipment specifications including: sizing, components, installation detailing and back-flow prevention; Design system for efficient water resource use and limit excessive overs-pray onto buildings, parking, and roadways by using proper head layout etc.; Preparation of information required for water use calculations for table “A” of Water Use permit including but not limited to well size, pump size, voltage and design calculations requested.  This project was completed in 2008.
