Glenspur

The Glenspur equestrian estate is situated on a serene 60-acre expanse in Wellington; one of the world’s largest equestrian communities. The master plan lays out the structures in precise axial alignment, starting on the north with an equestrian sand ring, followed southward by a ten stall stable (approx. 20,000 SF), a 28 stall polo barn (approx. 18,000 SF), a 6 unit grooms quarters (approx. 3,900 sf), and caretaker quarter’s building with an equipment storage facility (approx. 6,900 SF). The remaining accessory structures include the manure bins, horse walker, and paddocks. The linear building housing the horse stalls was designed on an east-west axis in order to maximize the impact of southwest and northeast prevailing winds to allow for natural ventilation. The client’s desire for a strong symmetrical design was implemented throughout each aspect of the site including its landscaping and structures. The pristine white walls and red tiled roof is inspired by the mission-colonial style to compliment the surrounding equine community aesthetics, while meticulous attention to detail of massing, scale, and architecture gives the project a unique character. In addition, this successful project received the Award of Honour from the American Society of Landscape Architects Florida Chapter in 2014.
